Overview
The strategic
procurement section at Murdoch puts into operation strategies and mechanisms to
approach and interact with the supply market that takes into account present and
future University needs. The area adopts an active approach to market
building with regard to the acquisition of goods and services that are critical
to the Universities viability, undertakings and innovation.
Services & Functions

Develop and
action strategic procurement plans.

Develop,
implement and monitor procurement and related polices and procedures.

Develop,
implement and monitor terms and conditions of trade for University suppliers.

Consult and
empathise with relevant stakeholders as to elucidate strategic supply needs.

Satisfy
strategic supply needs from supply markets via the proactive and planned
analysis of supply markets and the selection and implementation of approved
suppliers with the objective of delivering solutions to meet strategic supply
needs.

Assist and
advise various University areas in procuring specific supply needs.

Form and
build strategic supply relationships that are based on mutual trust & respect.

Monitor
strategic supply and deal with supply issues as they arise.

Promote and
disseminate procurement initiatives and innovation.

Educate and
train relevant University personnel in procurement and purchasing skills.
